Detailed description of Keney Park Golf Club
Keney Park Golf Club is a Public, 18 hole golf course located in Hartford, Connecticut.
The course first opened in 1927 with a nine-hole course designed by Devereaux Emmet. The course added a second nine in 1930. The second nine was designed by Robert “Jack” Ross, an engineer for the City of Hartford.
The course had a multi-million dollar makeover / renovation in 2014-2015. The massive restoration design effort was led by Matthew Dusenberry of Dusenberry Design. Dusenberry, a Milwaukee-based golf course architect, was a longtime associate at Greg Norman Golf Course Design.
This is a tight course that is very challenging. The greens are elevated, small and very undulated. The fairways are both hilly and flat. There is one creek that comes into play on twelve holes. The course's signature hole is #5, which is rated as one of the toughest holes in the state.

great track-set up as links-greens are slow, but faster would make pace of play nuts [ 5 1/2 to six hours ] if they speed up the greens. fairways are tight ,while not lush. quite frankly , i loved the place and will be back many times over. can't wait for the clubhouse restoration to be finished

A good test of golf on a great old layout. Well wooded course where shot placement is at a premium. Fairways and greens are in great shape. Tee boxes are the one down side - many are in shade and with amount of play just don't hold up.

Recent renovations have added some yardage, grass tees and very challenging greens. If played before 2016 it is worth a trip back.
